STROMNESS TOWN HALL – SATURDAY 8 OCTOBER
DOORS 5:30PM, PERFORMANCE STARTS 6:00PM PERFORMANCE ENDS 8:00PM
A Thousand Cranes is based on the true story of a girl called Sadako Sasaki, a survivor of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima in 1945. In Japan, there is a legend that if you fold a thousand paper cranes, your wish becomes true. This story beautifully expresses Sadako’s innocent heart, friendship with her friends, and great sadness caused by war.
We are delighted to have Noriko Tosaka, a Designated Linklater Voice Teacher and a former actor at Takarazuka Revue from Japan for this performance.
Thanks to considerable support from Daiwa Anglo Japanese Foundation and the Consulate General of Japan in Edinburgh, Orkney Japan Association and Noriko for this opportunity to present a theatre performance ‘A Thousand Cranes’ by Kathryn Schultz Miller in Orkney this October.
Tickets are free, and the organisers would greatly appreciate it if you could register for tickets in advance through this page.
