A deeply relaxing time with attention to breath, space, tongue and chest, mouth, teeth resonators. We’ll spend time on the floor so you may want a mat and a warm space or even a blanket handy.

Linklater teacher, actress, vocal, text and presence coach. I have taught actors in leading actor training programs in the USA such as NYU, Yale School of Drama, Circle-in-the-Square, Classic Stage Company and internationally at Toi Whakaari – the New Zealand Drama School; opera students at the Boston Conservatory; MBA’s at the Sloan School of Business; MIT’s philosophy Ph.D candidates; engineers and scientists at Biogen Idec, Inc; MIT students as well as faculty members. I am currently on faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
My first experience of Kristin’s work was in 1983 as a participant in Shakespeare and Company’s January Workshop. It was a rich time with the master teachers still on faculty. Kristin was teaching master voice classes, small group voice classes, text classes, her Sound and Movement work. It was an extraordinary time. Being an actor in NYC I continued, after the workshop ended, taking voice classes with her designated teachers in NYC as well as with Kristin. My love of the work and what it gave me as an actor and as a person lead me to train as a teacher. This voice work freed and opened my breath, my voice, and enabled my emotions to be reflected and expressed through all parts of my breath, voice and body. It has taught me a love and appreciation of language. What it means to stand by and in words.
In my teaching I use Shakespeare’s sonnets as well as great historical speeches as vehicles for the demands of vocal flexibilty they require and for experiencing the complexity of thought and the rhectorical devices inherent to these texts. It is fun to speak great writing!
Each summer I co-direct the senior Shakespeare production at New England Youth Theatre, a preeminent youth theatre in the heart of Vermont with a 3-million dollar theatre complex, with productions such as Hamlet, Richard III, Titus Andronicus, Cymbeline, Winter’s Tale. In 2014 I taught Freeing Shakespeare’s Voice at the Birmingham School of Acting in the UK.
I also continue to work as an actor with an incredible group of former NYC theatre people here in Vermont. Recent roles being Violet in AUGUST:OSAGE COUNTY, Vivian in W;T and Sister Aloysius in DOUBT.
