Description

What happens when your self-expression takes on more and more demand? If you tighten against the demand, your muscles are holding back your desire to communicate. this workshop focuses on the relationship of the head, neck, jaw and tongue in order to free the mid-range of the speaking voice. Free breath-focused through the bony sinus resonators, allow a more revealing part of you to come through. We explore specialized exercises, which use imagery to undo tension in the jaw, throat and tongue so that you can open up your range and articulate clearly. This work is useful for actors and singers or anyone who wants to explore the freedom of impulse, leading to freedom of expression.

Text work: The transparency of the mid-voice is one of the keys to revealing yourself. We explore devices such as speaking with the tongue outside the mouth, whispering and speaking text on vowels only to continue the re-conditioning of voice and speaking from a head/brain-centred experience to an embodied, sensory experience. The workshop is very voice concentrated and entails a great deal of individual attention.
